Gateway Arch National Park commemorates the 1803 Louisiana Purchase, the 1857 Dred Scott case, and the first civil government west of the Mississippi River. The most popular feature of the park is the 630-foot tall Gateway Arch. The steel catenary arch, competed in 1965, is the world’s tallest arch.
